3 LAMPS GET A NEW "DO"

UPSTYLED LAMPS

I tend to get restless in the winter when I'm stuck in the house and when this happens anything inside seems to be fair game for a paint job.  If it doesn't move fast enough it might find itself sporting a new color or finish.
I think that's why my cats keep on the run!

I had 3 sad-looking lamps that needed a new "do".

Lamp #1
I recently purchased a new pole lamp with a nice shade but the shade just wasn't making a statement.  And add to that, the lamp pole was brown and plastic, ugh.  I was at Hobby Lobby shortly after its purchase and found a cute shade (on SALE!) with covered buttons on it.  Perfect for my house!  Now that's making a statement!  I brought it home and liked it on the pole lamp but still wasn't happy with the color of the pole.

So when I get bored . . . I go to my happy place and get out the paint!  Lol

Lamp #1
Gave the pole lamp a coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White and wha-la!  That's exactly what it needed.

Distressed it a bit, too.  Oh, yes :)

Lookin' good!  Now I love my new lamp!

Now I had a leftover lampshade from Lamp #1 -
Hmm, I see another sad-looking lamp in my living room. . .

Lamp #2
This lamp (I hate to admit it was purchased by me in 1980, yes, it's true).  A nice, heavy lamp base, but Brass. No! Ugh.
So to keep the paint color consistent in the living room I painted Lamp #2 with the same paint color as Lamp #1 and gave it Lamp #1's shade!  Looks good on this lamp!  Win - win!

I refinished the pretty blue table the lamp is sitting on last year ;)

Now I had another leftover lamp shade from Lamp #2
Hmm, I purchased a jar lamp at a garage sale last summer that Had No Shade!  The lamp was black glass with a brass (no!) band around the bottom.

Lamp #3
I painted Lamp #3 with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in French Linen and how I love her now!  She got Lamp #2's shade and resides on the nightstand in my bedroom :)

It turned out to be a fun, creative weekend and my 3 lamps went from UGH to FABULOUS!

Let's see?  What can I paint when we get our next snowstorm?!!

Thanks for stopping by, my gate is always open,
